Joleen Searles, J.D., LL.M.
As a senior attorney and the Firm’s managing partner, Joleen helps shape The Andersen Firm’s ongoing commitment to providing our clients with the best possible guidance, support, and knowledge to satisfy their legal needs.
Joleen utilizes her in-depth knowledge of the estate planning field to design trusts for her clients, giving them the peace of mind that their heirs will be taken care of and protected. She oversees our Settlement and Probate practice as well as serves as the firm’s Legal/Technical Director. She also manages our Ultra High Net Worth practice, utilizing very complex planning solutions to help those clients navigate through the many unique estate tax and asset protection challenges that they face.
Joleen frequently lectures on continuing education presentations for Financial Advisors, CPAs, Insurance Brokers, attorneys and other financial professionals as part of The Andersen Firm’s Financial Advisor Continuing Education Program and other Continuing Education Programs.
Along with the founder of the firm William E. Andersen, Joleen authored The Pocket Guide to Trusts & Estates: Understanding Estate Planning, Estate Settlement, Estate Litigation, Asset Protection, and Elder Law.
Clients and financial advisors love working with Joleen because her breadth of knowledge is combined with a warm and friendly personality that makes everyone comfortable, even when discussing topics that can sometimes be disconcerting. She attributes this to her background as an Army Brat, growing up all over the world – Texas, North Carolina, California, Japan, Alabama, Virginia, New York, Tennessee, Florida, Germany, and the list goes on. All the moving around made a positive impact on her, teaching her to adapt and relate to people on any and all levels.
Joleen earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia, her Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Hofstra University, and an LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Miami. She is licensed to practice law in Florida, New York, and Tennessee.
